Who is Tracey Schroeder?
Tracey Schroeder is a hard-working, award winning teacher, and a 3rd generation "valley girl" who has served our community for over 2 decades. Her experiences volunteering and serving in local, national school governance, plus her international volunteer work has prepared her to voice our local needs in Sacramento. Tracey is a UCLA Graduate who earned her master’s degree at Philips Graduate Institute. Tracey believes in crime-free streets, thriving businesses, low cost of living, exceptional schools, autonomy, health freedom and freedom of religion. Tracey is an independent thinker and a common-sense candidate for California State Assembly District 46.
Why are you running for California State Assembly 46?
Our politicians have abandoned the locals and have neglected to fund the most basic, fixable concern - Prop 36. We voted stop crime in California. Instead, our politicians, in their negligence, are acting as criminals for allowing this lunacy in the streets to continue. They should all be jailed for every crime that their refusal to fund Prop 36 should have prevented.
Additionally, while paying premium tax rates, chairman of the budget committee is plotting to track and tax the miles we drive rather than getting to the bottom of our ever-disappearing funds with no felt results. The hard-working people of the valley have had it with their gas-lighting and sheer abandonment.
Teachers are still spending thousands of dollars each of our own money on supplies on my classroom because politicians are disconnected from reality and vote for their own political careers rather than representing the hard-working constituents. They say they care about education, but they don't know a thing about our schools. They ignore and seem to help create the problems because they want to raise our tax fees to suit special projects for their friends and funders.
I am running to be your California State representative because I believe that, red or blue, we share the same concerns, and we all want good outcomes for ourselves and our neighbors here in the San Fernando Valley. Allowing the unhoused to camp on sidewalks, particularly in school zones, is not compassion; it’s inaction. Watching local businesses close due to excessive shoplifting and lack of criminal prosecution harms everyone. Great businesses and employees losing jobs/business due to over-regulation of the state is shocking and un-American. Small business owners and their employees deserve Sacramento’s support, not burdensome regulations and ever-increasing taxation. Increased property taxes impact homeowners and renters who are stuck paying for government mismanagement.
I’m Tracey Schroeder, daughter of an army veteran, granddaughter of a first generation immigrant, an elementary school teacher with LAUSD for over twenty-five years, with a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Master’s Degree. I’m running, not as a politician, but as a woman driven to step up to fight for what used to be common sense solutions.
I am running a grassroots campaign fueled by parents and teachers who want schools to return to having strong, academic, non-sexualized curriculum for their children. I risked my job fighting to defend our rights and because I knew that if the adults did not take a stand, how would the children? My supporters are all ages, from all walks of life who, like me, believe that military veterans deserve their earned benefits, that the cost of living in the Golden State must be reduced.
And, that unlimited and unchecked taxation needs to end and that Proposition 13 must be protected. I am fighting to improve the quality of life for families in our neighborhoods. I greatly appreciate your consideration and your vote!
